The first year, I freaked out, today I didn't. I know that I will have a great show planned and all I need is 10 films to be submitted. I am confident that my 8th grade team/groups will complete their work.
Let me explain what I have to do when it comes to see who wins all the awards for the film festival. Right now I am accumulating judges. This has been harder this year than others because those judges that usually judge, no longer work in the district or are just choosing to judge this year. Slowly, I will have the fifteen judges, but it is taking time to get them. That's ok.
Then, I have to keep pumping up the students to turn in their films. 11 groups have dropped out so far. This is now anticipated every year, but there are still 27 groups left that say they will complete.
Raising money! I got another $50 donation to the film festival which takes our total to $1400 this year! This is just from sponsors. I am very happy about that! I want to keep raising! I would like to see some of the kids help out with this, but they are all so busy, I feel bad asking them. We will see how much more we can get.
Once the films are submitted, I will upload them to a secure website. I will then create a unique link for each film and create a unique judges form for each film. This will allow the judges to watch the films online and then score them online as well. This will also allow me to see who wins all the awards a little easier as well!
I also need to set up the show....I need to do the introduction to the entire show as well as the intros to the 5 hosts and myself. I also have to get the Lip Dub ready, planned, edited and ready for shoot 3 days before the film festival. There is also the "Celebrate Hyatts" video which needs to be put together. It seems like a lot, I just need to stay rested, get this work together and the show will be awesome.
I love the hustle and bustle of this event. The hard work is so worth it because I get to see my old students come back and help, my current students celebrate their 8th grade year and all the family and friends come back and enjoy a great show.
Here hopes it all goes ok.
